BRTK: Don’t Pursue Legal Action Against Me for Causing Damage
Minister of Labor and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu has spoken out against accusations that he is responsible for the mismanagement of the Provident Fund. In response to claims that the Fund’s Board of Directors had decided to pay an 8,000 euro consultancy fee to one person under his guidance, Gardiyanoğlu defended the decision, stating that the money was not wasted and that the accusations were an attempt to tarnish his name.
In a written statement, Gardiyanoğlu clarified that Arif Sarı, the consultant in question, is an experienced scientist who has worked on the digital transformation of the state. He explained that Sarı’s role in the project is to prepare the tender specifications for the Provident Fund’s digital archive creation project, for which he will not receive a fee.
Gardiyanoğlu emphasized that the consultancy fee was intended to cover travel, accommodation, and other expenses related to the project, and that it was necessary for the classification of documents and determination of the estimate price of the tender. He further stated that Sarı’s involvement in the project was proposed as a way to ensure transparency in the fund’s expenditure.
The Minister also criticized the actions of those who protested against him, accusing them of causing significant financial damage to the Provident Fund. He vowed to hold responsible individuals accountable for any losses incurred by the Fund and stressed that he would invite state control instruments to investigate the matter.
In conclusion, Gardiyanoğlu reaffirmed his commitment to transparent and responsible management of the Provident Fund, stating that he would not succumb to pressure or manipulation from any party. He declared that the era of political interference and mismanagement of institutions was over and that he would not allow such practices to continue.
