BRTK Manager Özkurt’s Success Story Panel in İzmir Seferihisar
The Izmir Seferihisar Contemporary Women Platform recently organized a panel titled “8 March -8 Women – 8 Success Stories” in celebration of International Working Women’s Day. The event showcased the inspiring stories of successful women who have made significant contributions in various professional fields.
During the panel, platform representative Esin Esen emphasized the importance of recognizing and celebrating the power, courage, and determination of women. She highlighted the potential for women to create a more equitable, sustainable, and peaceful world when their talents are fully realized.
BRTK Director Meryem Özkurt also spoke at the panel, addressing the impact of media portrayal on women’s roles in society. Özkurt pointed out how the media’s representation of women can significantly influence societal perspectives and attitudes.
Other speakers at the panel included Felt Master Designer Ayfer Güleç, Turkish Folk Music Artist Bahar Almaç, Associate Professor Çiğdem Toker, Local Farmer and Producer Ecem Bezer, Expert Psychologist Emine Çiçek Öztürk, İzmir Women’s Organizations Association Honorary President Engin Demir, and Director Nejla İmanlı. Each speaker shared their insights and experiences on empowering women in their respective fields.
Izmir Seferihisar Mayor İsmail Adult presented plaques at the event, acknowledging the achievements and contributions of the women honored during the panel. The event served as a platform to inspire and celebrate the success stories of women who have broken barriers and made a difference in their communities.
