BRTK pledges ongoing support for Turkish Cypriot’s struggle
President Ersin Tatar of Northern Cyprus recently had a meeting with Vice President of Turkey, Cevdet Yılmaz, at the Turkish Presidential Complex. During the meeting, President Tatar expressed his condolences to those who lost their lives in recent tragic events in Turkey and Azerbaijan.
President Tatar highlighted the support of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the Turkish Cypriots and the positive impact of water supply from Turkey on agriculture in Northern Cyprus. He also praised the investments made in various sectors which have boosted the capacity and potential of the region.
Despite economic challenges caused by the pandemic and other global crises, President Tatar emphasized the resilience shown by Turkey and the progress being made in overcoming difficulties. President Tatar discussed the potential opening of a border gate in Haspolat, which would facilitate trade between the two countries and relieve congestion at existing border gates. He also mentioned the construction of a park in the Metehan Region, which will provide recreational opportunities to citizens.
