BRTK Publishes List of Time-Barred Deposits, Participation Funds, Escrow, and Receivables
The Central Bank has recently made an important announcement regarding expired deposits. According to the information released, a list of all types of deposits, participation funds, trusts, and receivables that have become time-barred was published in the Official Gazette.
This action was taken in accordance with the provisions of the Banking Law, which requires banks to provide the Central Bank with a list of deposits, trusts, and receivables that have not been claimed within a 10-year period and have become time-barred.
If the owners of these deposits, trusts, and receivables do not come forward to claim them within one year from the publication in the Official Gazette, they will be transferred to the Savings Deposit Insurance and Financial Stability Fund.
Individuals who believe they are beneficiaries of any of these deposits will have the opportunity to have them paid out by applying to the Central Bank within the one-year period.
This announcement serves as a reminder for individuals to check the published list and take action if they believe they are entitled to any of the expired deposits, participation funds, trusts, or receivables. Failure to do so within the specified timeframe may result in the transfer of these assets to the Savings Deposit Insurance and Financial Stability Fund.
