BRTK Staff Threaten Indefinite Strike if Issues Remain Unresolved by April 30

The Turkish Cypriot Public Officials Union and Public Workers’ Union at Famagusta State Hospital have initiated a strike in polyclinics and laboratories due to staffing issues.

Metin Atan, Chairman of Kamusen, stated in an interview with BRT that the strike was organized in response to the lack of personnel at Famagusta State Hospital. The goal of the strike is to address and minimize the existing problems within the hospital.

While acknowledging the Ministry of Health’s efforts to resolve the situation, Atan emphasized that their actions were deemed insufficient. He mentioned that if a satisfactory resolution is not reached by Wednesday, April 30, an indefinite strike will be carried out.

The situation at Famagusta State Hospital highlights the importance of adequate staffing and resources in healthcare facilities to ensure quality care for patients. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
