Budapest Airport elevates to four-star status with great success

Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport Earns Four-Star Rating

Budapest Airport revealed on Wednesday that it has been given a four-star rating by international aviation research organization Skytrax, putting it on par with airports like London Heathrow, Amsterdam Schiphol, Barcelona, and Vienna, among others. The recognition comes following a three-day audit of the airport’s services in March, taking into account 500 different criteria.

The upgrade is a validation of the airport’s development efforts worth 100 billion forints (267 billion euros) over the past four years, which have been appreciated by travelers. The CEO of Budapest Airport, Kam Jandu, said that the four-star rating is the result of hard work and dedication from the entire airport ecosystem, noting that the airport is not stopping there and will continue to monitor areas for improvement.

In February, Budapest Airport reported that it had served 12,205,070 passengers last year, reaching 75% of the record number of passengers in 2019. The airport ecosystem will welcome the Spanish national airline Iberia’s increased number of flights taking off from the airport.
