Budapest Airport to Host 12th Charity Runway Run
On 31 August, Budapest Airport will host its 12th annual charity Runway Run, welcoming both aviation professionals and civilians to participate in this unique event. The race will take place on runway I at Ferenc Liszt International Airport, offering runners the opportunity to support two important causes while enjoying a thrilling experience.
The proceeds from the Runway Run will be donated to the Ments Életet Közhasznú Alapítvány (Save Lives Non-profit Foundation) and the SUHANJ! foundation. These organizations work towards supporting the recovery of sick children and providing sporting opportunities for handicapped and disabled individuals. Over the years, the donations raised from this event have surpassed 100 million HUF, showcasing the tremendous impact of the participants’ contributions.
This year, Budapest Airport will once again open the event to the wider community, inviting athletes from all backgrounds to join in the race. The organizers are committed to ensuring an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all, offering various categories for participants to enter. Along with the traditional adult distances of 5 km and 10 km, there will be children’s categories for ages 6-14, including a Kids’ Fun Run for younger participants.
To help participants prepare for the event, Budapest Airport will provide a six-week training plan, ensuring that everyone can fully enjoy the Runway Run experience. Whether you are an experienced runner or looking to participate in your first charity race, this event offers a unique opportunity to support meaningful causes while enjoying a thrilling run on the airport runway.
