Budapest Airport Wins Best Regional Airport Award for 11th Consecutive Year
Budapest Airport has once again been recognized as the “Best Airport in Eastern Europe” at the prestigious World Airport Awards, organized by Skytrax. This marks the eleventh consecutive year that Budapest Airport has received this esteemed accolade, based on feedback from passengers who participated in the World Airport Survey questionnaires.
The awards ceremony took place on 17 April in Frankfurt, as part of the Passenger Terminal EXPO. Budapest Airport stood out for its exceptional performance in various aspects of the passenger experience, from arrival to departure. Despite the challenges of the past few years, including the global pandemic and economic difficulties, Budapest Airport had its most successful year in 2023, with over 14.7 million passengers and more than 200,000 tons of air cargo passing through.
The airport’s commitment to continuous improvement was evident in the various upgrades and enhancements implemented throughout the year. From the expansion of self-service baggage drop-off systems to the introduction of quiet boxes in terminals, Budapest Airport focused on enhancing the travel experience for passengers. New play areas for families, improvements in security screening processes, and investments in infrastructure such as new baggage carousels and parking facilities contributed to the airport’s reputation for excellence.
