Scat Airlines to Launch Direct Flights between Shymkent and Budapest
Kazakhstan’s Scat Airlines has announced that starting on May 27, 2025, they will be launching direct flights connecting Shymkent and Budapest. This new route will provide a convenient air link between Central Asia and Central Europe, with the service operating twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays using Boeing 737 aircraft. Tickets for these flights will be available through the end of the 2025 summer schedule.
The DV 489/490 route will see flights departing from Shymkent at 8:00 AM local time, arriving in Budapest at 10:30 AM. Return flights will leave Budapest at 11:25 AM and arrive back in Shymkent at 8:00 PM local time. The scheduled flight duration for this route is 5.5 hours in both directions, as reported by the airline.
This new operational schedule will provide more travel options for both Kazakh travelers looking to explore Central Europe and Hungarian passengers seeking direct access to the commercial and cultural hub of southern Kazakhstan. Ticket reservations for these flights are now available through Scat Airlines’ standard booking channels, although specific pricing details have not been released at this time.
