The Bullying Incident in Denizli’s Merkezefendi District: 11-Year-Old Student Assaulted
Recent incidents of bullying at a secondary school in Denizli’s Merkezefendi district have shocked the local community. An 11-year-old student, identified as SAT, was brutally attacked by seven of his peers after school. SAT had been the victim of ongoing threats, insults, and violence and had endured the situation without informing his family about what was happening.
However, when his father, Mustafa Tekeli, noticed that his son’s psychological well-being was deteriorating, the truth was revealed. Mustafa Tekeli took immediate action to help his son, seeking medical attention for his injuries and reporting the assault to the police. Following the family’s complaint, the children involved in the assault are now under investigation by the authorities.
Mustafa Tekeli also expressed his concern for creating a safe and secure environment for children at school. He emphasized the importance of taking action to prevent bullying and to address incidents of this nature. Tekeli said, “We were deeply saddened to learn what my son went through. We have filed a complaint against the aggressive children to prevent further harm. My son was threatened and physically assaulted by seven children after school. When he came home, he told me he didn’t want to go to school anymore. I urge parents to educate their children about the impact of such behavior.”
SAT, the victim of the attack, explained that he had been subjected to constant name-calling and ridicule, ultimately leading to a violent confrontation. He asserted, “They called me names while I was waiting for my ride. They started yelling and making jokes, and then they began to attack me. I want these experiences to come to an end.”
The incident has raised concerns about the prevalence of bullying in schools and the need for effective measures to address and prevent such behavior. The authorities are now investigating the case to ensure that appropriate action is taken against the perpetrators, and measures are implemented to prevent future incidents.
