Bursa Flooded by the Sea
The sea overflowed in Bursa’s Karacabey district as a result of heavy rain and storms. Sea water surged onto the streets, advancing about 50 meters inland.
The showers and storms that struck the city over the weekend had a detrimental effect on daily life, with the height of the waves in the sea exceeding 3 meters due to the southwest wind with a speed exceeding 60 kilometers per hour. This caused the sea water to overflow onto the streets, making transportation difficult in residential areas near the Karacabey Strait.
The gardens of some sites were filled with sea water, and a section of the coastal road was closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The overflowing sea water created hazardous conditions for residents and disrupted normal activities in the affected areas.
The incident serves as a reminder of the power of nature and the need for precautions to be taken during severe weather events. It also emphasizes the importance of being prepared for and responding to natural disasters to minimize their impact on communities.
