Turkish singer and songwriter Busra Kayıkçı recently presented works from his new album, “Places,” at a concert, where he shared the inspiration behind his compositions. Kayıkçı revealed that he wrote the songs during the Covid-19 epidemic, which significantly influenced his creative process.
During his performance, Kayıkçı spoke about the effort and dedication he put into crafting each song, stating that some of the tracks took days to complete. He also mentioned the influence of his surroundings on his music, particularly emphasizing the significance of olive trees in inspiring his work. “We have been going to Çanakkale in the summers for as long as I can remember. But we are not from there. But when they ask ‘where are you from’, sometimes I feel like saying ‘I am from Çanakkale’. Olive trees give me great peace. I feel as if I am listening to advice from a wise person,” Kayıkçı expressed.
The concert, which showcased a blend of soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics, captivated the audience for approximately 1.5 hours without intermission. Kayıkçı’s performance received great acclaim from music enthusiasts, demonstrating the artist’s ability to connect with listeners through his poignant storytelling and emotive vocals.
