BYD Partners with Hungarian Educational Institutions
BYD, a leading Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, is making significant strides in Hungary with the establishment of its first plant in Europe in Szeged. The company is not only focused on developing its manufacturing capabilities in the region but also aims to collaborate with local education institutions to enhance its workforce and promote innovation.
A delegation from BYD, including representatives responsible for training and HR, recently visited Hungary to explore potential partnerships with education institutions in Szeged. During their visit, they met with Culture and Innovation Minister Balázs Hankó and István Joó, head of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency, to discuss their plans and seek support for their initiatives.
In addition, the delegation held meetings with the heads of higher education and vocational training institutions in Szeged to explore opportunities for collaboration. Jerry Xun, the company’s deputy CEO for HR, expressed confidence in the expertise and innovative approaches of the Hungarian workforce, emphasizing the important role they will play in BYD’s activities in the country.
The new BYD plant in Szeged is expected to produce up to 300,000 vehicles annually, highlighting the company’s commitment to growth and investment in Hungary. By establishing partnerships with local education institutions, BYD aims to leverage the skills and talents of the Hungarian workforce to drive its success in the region.
