ÇAKIR cruise missile’s precise hit on the target
The President of Defense Industry in Turkey, Ismail Demir, has made several announcements in a recent statement. He emphasized the importance of localization and nationalization in the defense industry, stating that it is the only way to protect national interests.
Demir noted that the defense industry is a special area with strict export processes, and Turkey has about 2,700 defense industry companies. The country has several ongoing engine projects, and the hydrogen and electric motors are on the agenda.
Regarding new developments in the industry, Demir mentioned a cruise missile called ÇAKIR, which has successfully passed a test. He also discussed ALKA, a product that can destroy drones with laser light. The President highlighted the success of producing engines of missiles in Turkey, which were previously imported.
Demir mentioned several other new technologies in the defense industry, including Alpagut, a device that can be directed toward a target by putting a camera on it; the AXE, which enables precise hitting in a motion environment; and ABOVE – the last point reached in gradual air defense.
According to Demir, many of the products produced by the Turkish defense industry are technologically advanced and can be used in other fields. The President of Defense Industry urged the public to stay tuned, as more products would be coming soon.
