Canada and Turkey Lift Restrictions on Arms Exports

After a period of suspension, Canada has announced that it will restart arms exports to Turkey. This decision comes after Turkey reportedly accepted Sweden’s NATO membership.
The export permit was initially canceled by Canada in 2021, following concerns over the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) produced in Turkey by the Azerbaijani army in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict against Armenia.
According to diplomatic sources, Canada’s decision to resume arms exports to Turkey is contingent on Turkey’s acceptance of Sweden’s NATO membership.
This development is sure to have wider implications for the region, and the details of this decision will soon be available on ntv.com.tr. Stay tuned for more updates on this breaking news story.
