Car Collision with Concrete Pole Leaves 1 Seriously Injured, Vehicle Turned to Scrap
A car accident in the Central Yenişehir district left one person seriously injured on Tuesday night. The incident occurred at around 01.40 on Cumhuriyet District Silvan Boulevard when the driver of an Opel Grandland lost control of the vehicle, crashed into a concrete electric pole, and ended up in a wreck.
Emergency services, including the police, health teams, and electricity company workers, quickly arrived at the scene after receiving reports of the accident. The driver, whose identity remains unknown, was given first aid before being rushed to the hospital due to the severity of their injuries.
This was not the first accident to happen in the same location. A driver of a car with plate number 21 ADZ 328 had previously collided with broken electrical wires and had their license confiscated after being found to be intoxicated by the traffic police.
Eyewitnesses described the harrowing scene, with the car smashing into the pole, shop wall, and even a nearby light commercial vehicle. The impact was so strong that pieces of the vehicle scattered up to 500 meters away.
Cleanup crews used a crane to remove the wreckage from the site, while the drunk driver’s vehicle was towed away. A formal investigation into the accident has been initiated by the authorities to determine the cause of the incident and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
