Cardigan-i Şerif Exhibition Days and Hours Revealed: Location Revealed!

The sacred cardigan-i sheriff, believed to have belonged to Muhammad, continues to be a revered relic at the Hırka-i Şerif Mosque. According to rumors, it was given to Veysel Karani by Ali and Ömer on Muhammad’s way to Mirac. Today, the responsibility of safeguarding this 1500-year-old treasure falls to the Karani family.
In the 1980s, there was an attempt to remove the cardigan from the mosque under the order of the Mufti of Fatih. However, after persistent efforts, the family was able to reclaim the cardigan. Following the passing of Nuriye Köprülü, the wife of Haşim Köprülü, the 57th generation descendant of Veysel Karani, in November 2005, her daughter Gülay Köprülü took on the task of preserving this sacred artifact.
The cardigan-i sheriff remains an important symbol of faith and history, cherished by the people of Karani and on display at the Hırka-i Şerif Mosque. Its journey and significance continue to captivate those who visit and learn about its remarkable history.
