Careless Driver Injures Pedestrian, Victim in Intensive Care
A woman was severely injured after being hit by a car in Gemikonağı last night. According to the Police Press Officer, the driver of the vehicle, Hüseyin KÖKSALLAR, was traveling east on Ecevit Street when he struck pedestrian Kübra TÜRKMEN in front of a petrol station. The accident, which occurred at around 20:20, resulted in serious injuries for Türkmen, who was subsequently taken to the intensive care unit at Nicosia Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital. She was diagnosed with a fracture in her right foot, a fracture in her rib cage, a fracture in her right hip, and a ruptured spleen.
The driver, Hüseyin KÖKSALLAR, was arrested in connection with the accident, and police investigations are ongoing.
