Hrant Dink’s Murder: The Unsolved Case Continues
TİP Spokesperson Sera Kadıgil has made a statement regarding the release of Ogün Samast, the perpetrator of the murder of journalist Hrant Dink. Kadıgil expressed her thoughts on the fact that Samast was released due to being a minor at the time of the crime.
“Ogün Samast was just a pawn in this case,” Kadıgil said. “He himself admitted that he was a 17-year-old child at the time and questioned how he could have known about Agos and Hrant. The real perpetrators and those who targeted him are not being brought to justice.”
Kadıgil also raised concerns about the number of people who were tried in connection to Dink’s murder – nearly 80, with 50 of them being public officials. Despite this, only 3 people were arrested, including Samast. She also mentioned that the case remains unsolved after 16 years, causing great embarrassment.
“Hrant Dink’s murder is still unsolved,” Kadıgil emphasized. “Ogün Samast, who was released yesterday, was merely a tool in this crime. He was not even charged with membership in the organization behind the murder, which is why his release was possible so quickly.”
The release of Samast has reignited the public’s attention on the unsolved case of Hrant Dink’s murder, and questions remain about the real instigators behind the crime. As the case continues, it is clear that there is still much work to be done in pursuit of justice for Hrant Dink.
