Celebrating World Scout Thought Day with a Feast- BRTK

The World Scout Day Feast was celebrated in Kyrenia in honor of the 22 February Scout Day of Thought. The event, organized in cooperation with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Leaders’ Association and Kyrenia Municipality, took place in Cemil Square and was filled with fun games, competitions, food and beverage stalls, and souvenir sales.

President Lütfiye Fedai of İLDER expressed gratitude to Kyrenia for hosting the event, which was originally planned for February 22 but had to be postponed due to inclement weather. She emphasized the significance of celebrating the birthday of Baden Powell, the founder of the scout movement, and his wife as the Scout Day of Thought, highlighting the values of love, brotherhood, and help that scouts around the world embody.

The scouting activities in Kyrenia, led by Scout Leader Yeşim Beyzade and supported by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Kyrenia Municipality, have been gaining momentum over the past 5 months. Beyzade shared that the goal of the event was to raise funds for camping equipment through a bazaar organized as part of the festivities.
