Central Asian Museum Directors Forum to Take Place in Mongolia
The President of Mongolia, U.Khurelsukh, is currently on a state visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, where significant strides are being made in historical and cultural cooperation between the two countries. During the visit, the directors of Chinggis Khaan National Museum, Amir Timur Museum, and State History Museum signed a cooperation agreement to support joint efforts in preserving and promoting the rich history and culture shared by Mongolia and Uzbekistan.
As part of this agreement, both parties have committed to publishing historical and cultural papers showcasing the Mongolian presence in Uzbekistan, organizing joint exhibitions, carrying out collaborative projects, engaging in restoration and research activities, and hosting academic conferences and seminars. Additionally, they plan to establish a union of museums in the Central Asian region, fostering greater collaboration and exchange of knowledge and resources.
A significant milestone in this partnership will be the convening of a forum of museum directors from Central Asian countries in Mongolia in August 2025. This forum will provide a platform for sharing best practices, exploring potential areas of cooperation, and strengthening ties among museums in the region.
The ongoing state visit of President U.Khurelsukh has laid a solid foundation for enhancing cultural and historical cooperation between Mongolia and Uzbekistan, opening up new opportunities for preserving and celebrating the shared heritage of both nations.
