Central Bank Governor Karahan to Present in Parliament
Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan is set to meet with Members of Parliament for the first time since assuming office. Karahan will present to MPs at a Commission meeting chaired by AK Party Samsun Deputy Mehmet Muş.
During the meeting, Karahan is expected to provide a detailed presentation on global developments, the Turkish economy, inflation, and monetary policy. The focus will likely be on the Central Bank’s interest rate decisions and efforts to combat inflation.
According to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Law, the President is required to update the GNAT Planning and Budget Commission on the Bank’s activities and monetary policy practices. This meeting presents an important opportunity for Karahan to engage with MPs and provide insights into the Bank’s strategies moving forward.
