Cevdet Yılmaz appointed as President in Official Gazette
The Official Gazette has announced that Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz will be acting as President in the absence of President Erdoğan. The memorandum published stated that Yılmaz will take on the presidential duties while President Erdoğan visits the Arab Republic of Egypt on December 19.
According to Article 106 of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey, Vice President Yılmaz will serve as the acting President until President Erdoğan’s return. This decision ensures continuity in leadership and the smooth operation of governmental affairs while the President is away.
