Flight Disruption in Mexico City Due to Chicken on Metro Rails
On the 9th metro line at Centro Medico Metro Station in Mexico City, a chicken found its way onto the rails causing major disruption to the subway service. Subway personnel were forced to cut the electricity to catch the chicken after a short chase.
According to officials, the chicken belonged to a passenger and may have escaped and fallen onto the rails. It is still unclear how the chicken made its way onto the tracks in the first place. After the chicken was safely removed from the rails, metro services resumed without further disruption.
In a statement issued by the Mexico City Metro Administration, citizens were advised to protect their belongings that could fall on the rails and to transport their pets in vehicles such as cages to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
This is not the first time that animals have caused issues with transportation in Mexico City. Earlier this year, a pack of dogs delayed metro service for several hours after they wandered onto the tracks. Despite these incidents, authorities have reassured the public that they are taking measures to prevent animals from entering railways and causing disruptions.
