Children’s Activity Program by TIKA-BRTK

An Iftar dinner was recently organized for children and foster families under the auspices of the state, highlighting the importance of fostering a bond of love between the two groups. Hosted by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, the event brought together 21 families who are foster families for children under the care of the Social Services Department, along with 30 children under the protection of the State.

President Ersin Tatar, Minister of Labor and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu, TİKA TRNC Officer Havva Pınar Özcan Küçükçavuş, Turkish Republic of Turkey Nicosia Ambassador 1st Deputy Zerrin Kandemir, and Turkish Embassy officials were among the distinguished guests in attendance.

During the dinner, Alev Ecevit, Director of the Social Services Department, expressed her gratitude to TİKA officials for providing the opportunity to connect with children and foster families during Ramadan. She emphasized the significance of being a foster family and the care and love they provide, noting that the nurturing relationship between children and their families plays a crucial role in their development.

As a token of appreciation, TİKA distributed gifts to the children at the end of the dinner, further fostering a sense of joy and gratitude among the attendees. The event served as a heartwarming occasion to celebrate the spirit of caring and compassion within the community.
