China and Kazakhstan Strengthen Bilateral Relations in 2025
During a recent press conference in Beijing, China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun highlighted the close and thriving relationship between China and Kazakhstan. Describing the two countries as good neighbors, good friends, and good partners, Guo emphasized the mutual trust and success that they have enabled for each other.
The positive sentiment towards Kazakhstan was echoed by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in a recent interview where he discussed the dynamics of relations with foreign partners, including China. According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s press service, 2024 was a year of significant achievements for China-Kazakhstan relations.
President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Kazakhstan last year resulted in important agreements with President Tokayev, further strengthening bilateral cooperation. The two countries have seen increased trade and economic ties, as well as successful collaborations in various fields such as industrial capacity, connectivity, agriculture, and new energy. Cultural and people-to-people exchanges have also flourished, leading to a surge in two-way travel.
Looking ahead, Guo expressed China’s commitment to working closely with Kazakhstan to deepen cooperation, align development strategies, and ensure the success of upcoming major events. The focus remains on translating the shared vision of the two countries’ leaders into tangible outcomes and taking China-Kazakhstan relations to new heights in the year 2025.
