China calls on Europe to embrace inclusive world view
Chinese Foreign Minister Emphasizes the Importance of China-Europe Relations
During his visit to Norway, China’s Foreign Minister, China Gang, spoke about the significance of China-Europe relations in a joint press conference with his Norwegian counterpart, Anniken Huitfeldt. Highlighting the global influence of China and Europe’s two great civilizations and markets, China Gang stated that China seeks to establish communication, coordination, and mutually beneficial cooperation with European countries.
In a turbulent international environment, China Gang emphasized the importance of a world view that prioritizes inclusivity and the advancement of different countries on their chosen path of development. He added that preserving the world order after World War II and avoiding a new Cold War is essential for promoting peaceful development, equality, and justice.
The Foreign Minister also stated that a new Cold War would have disastrous consequences for the entire world and is not in the interest of China, Europe, or any other country. Instead, he encouraged both powers to use their resources and capacities to promote common development and prosperity, emphasizing that mutually beneficial cooperation should be viewed from a “win-win” perspective.
China Gang concluded by stating that China serves as Europe’s partner in risk management, exporting trust rather than risks. He hopes that China and Europe will continue to oppose a new Cold War and work together to promote positive relationships.
