
Chinese Terracotta Army, Blake, and Master MS: Museum of Fine Arts Showcase

The Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest has exciting exhibitions lined up for this year, featuring a diverse range of art and artists. The Chinese Terracotta Army, the work of William Blake, and the mysterious Master MS and his era will be showcased at the museum, while the Hungarian National Gallery will display Secession posters.
László Baan, the Director of the Museum and Fine Arts and its member institutions, shared the upcoming highlights with the press. Starting this Friday and running through June 1, a collection of highlights from the Museum of Fine Arts’s graphics collection will be displayed at the Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao, featuring renowned artists such as Durer, Leonardo, and Goya, as well as Hungarian masters Barabás and Vasarely.
Baan also mentioned the significant growth of the museum’s collection in recent years, thanks to successful exhibitions and donations. Nearly a thousand works of art have been acquired, including pieces by El Greco, Kandinsky, and Girodet, as well as an Egyptian mask, an antique vase, and Japanese woodcarvings.
The upcoming exhibition titled Guardians of Immortality—Terracotta Soldiers of China’s First Emperor, scheduled to open on November 27, is expected to be a highlight of 2025. Additionally, an exhibition in collaboration with London’s Tate Gallery will open on March 21, featuring works by William Blake and his contemporaries.
