CHP Chairman Özgür Özel Pays Tribute to Rauf Denktaş and Dr. Fazıl Küçük on the 50th Anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel recently visited the monumental graves of two key figures in the history of Turkish Cypriots – Rauf Denktaş and Dr. Fazıl Küçük. This visit was in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation.
During the visit, Özel and his delegation paid their respects at the graves of Dr. Fazıl Küçük, the leader of the Turkish Cypriots’ struggle for independence, and Founding President Rauf Denktaş. They observed a moment of silence and sang the National Anthem in honor of these important historical figures.
Speaking about Rauf Denktaş, Özel praised his strong leadership and selfless dedication to the Turkish Cypriot people. He acknowledged Denktaş’s pivotal role in the fight for freedom and independence, expressing a commitment to preserving his legacy.
Likewise, Özel paid tribute to Dr. Fazıl Küçük, recognizing his leadership and devotion in the struggle for independence. He highlighted Küçük’s influential role as an advocate for Turkish Cypriot rights and pledged to uphold his vision for the future.
In signing the memorial books for both Denktaş and Küçük, Özel expressed deep respect for their contributions to the Turkish Cypriot community. He emphasized the importance of remembering their legacies and continuing to work towards a bright future for all Turkish Cypriots.
