CHP’s Izmir Candidate for March 31 Local Elections Revealed as Cemil Tugay
The Republican People’s Party (CHP) has officially announced the mayoral candidates for Izmir and its 31 districts. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel presided over the Party Assembly (PM) meeting, where the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor candidate and district mayor candidates were determined. Cemil Tugay has been confirmed as the CHP Izmir Mayor candidate.
In total, 31 district mayor candidates were determined at the meeting. The candidates for each district were announced in a written statement by the party. Notably, Lal Denizli, the daughter of Mustafa Denizli, has been selected as the candidate for Çeşme Mayor.
Among the district mayor candidates are Çağatay Güç for Aliağa district, Onur Yiğit for Balçova district, and Davut Sakarsu for Bayındır district, to name a few.
The selection of candidates for these key municipal positions is an important step as the CHP prepares for upcoming elections. With the announcement of the mayoral candidates, political attention in Izmir and its districts will undoubtedly increase in the coming months as the campaigns get underway.
