
CIS Foreign Ministers Convene in Almaty to Strengthen Bonds and Unveil Fresh Programs

The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Council of Foreign Ministers recently gathered in Almaty to discuss key international issues and the future of cooperation within the organization. During the meeting, the ministers emphasized their commitment to enhancing collaboration and maximizing the potential of the CIS.
Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu underscored the importance of the CIS as a platform for constructive dialogue and strengthening ties among member states. He expressed Kazakhstan’s dedication to bolstering the organization’s multifaceted capabilities.
The council focused on the institutional development of the CIS, promoting coordination, and advancing initiatives proposed by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Nurtleu highlighted key projects such as the Volunteer Forum, Commonwealth Fair, and Academic Capital of the CIS.
In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II, the meeting participants agreed to confer the honorary title of the City of Labor Glory. 1941-1945 to cities like Astana, Almaty, and Karagandy, among others in CIS countries.
