
Citywide Alert Issued for Chemicals in Drinking Water

Foaming in the dam that supplies drinking water to the city of Yalova has caused water cuts throughout the city. The Kurtköy Derivation, which feeds the Gökçe Dam, was found to have foaming in the water, leading to immediate action to address the issue.
Yalova Mayor, Mehmet Gurel, stated that as soon as the foaming was detected, the water supply line was cut and technical cleaning work began to resolve the issue. The precautionary water deduction was necessary to ensure the safety and quality of the drinking water for the residents of Yalova.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the foaming, including the possibility of external intervention. Mayor Gurel assured the public that the water cuts were solely due to technical cleaning and urged residents to remain calm while the issue is being addressed.
