Claims of Neglect in Firefighting Efforts in Izmir Denied
DMM denies disinformation about intervention in Izmir fires
In a recent statement by DMM, it was clarified that the claims circulating on social media platforms regarding the lack of necessary intervention in the fires in Izmir are false and misleading.
The statement emphasized that firefighting efforts in Izmir have been ongoing without interruption, with all relevant institutions and organizations working together in a coordinated manner since the beginning of the fires.
Regarding the fire in the Yamanlar Neighborhood of the Karşıyaka district in Izmir, it was reported that a total of 596 vehicles and 2,965 personnel, including aircrafts, helicopters, water trucks, TOMAs, water tankers, and other vehicles, have been deployed for intervention. Additionally, 800 citizens have been evacuated from various neighborhoods in the affected areas.
Furthermore, the statement mentioned that the fire in the Yeniyurt Neighborhood of Beydağ district is also being responded to with aircrafts, helicopters, and land vehicles provided by the Izmir General Directorate of Forestry.
The statement also provided updates on fires in other parts of Izmir, mentioning specific firefighting efforts and evacuations in the Tire and Bayındır districts. It was reported that evacuation efforts are underway in various neighborhoods, and medical treatment is being provided to those affected by the fires.
