Clean Seawater Analyses Conducted Across Island by Ministry of Health – BRTK

The Ministry of Health has released a statement confirming that sea water analyses conducted across the island in July have shown clean results.
According to the Ministry of Health, the July analysis results were evaluated in accordance with the microbiological criteria of the European Union and were found to be clean. However, there have been false comments circulating on social media and in the public opinion regarding the cleanliness of the sea water.
The Ministry of Health emphasized that the sea water analysis results are shared transparently with the public every month through the ministry’s official website. The sampling process for August is currently ongoing and the results will be published on the ministry’s official website.
Seawater analyses are conducted in the State Laboratory as part of a cooperation protocol signed between the Deputy Prime Ministry, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, and the Ministry of Health. This protocol focuses on “Monitoring, Sampling and Analysis of Seawater Quality throughout the TRNC”.
It is important for the public to rely on accurate information provided by official sources and to not be misled by misinformation. The Ministry of Health is committed to ensuring the safety and quality of sea water for residents and tourists alike.
