Close Call: Photographers Risk Their Lives for the Perfect Shot of the Waves
Two women in Rize narrowly escaped a tragic fate as they tried to capture the powerful waves forming on the beach during a storm. The storm that hit Rize since yesterday evening has caused havoc, especially along the coastline. Huge waves at sea have resulted in destruction to businesses and parks in the area.
In Kordon, Rize, two women were filming the massive waves with their phones when they were suddenly engulfed by the waves. Fortunately, they managed to break free from the dangerous situation and escape unharmed. A witness named Serhat Kandemir described the intense moment, mentioning that the women were trapped under a big wave but miraculously survived.
The storm also affected park areas designated for children along the Rize coastline. Trees were uprooted in parks and gardens, and garbage littered in nature was scattered onto the beach by the force of the waves.
Rize Municipality Technical Works cleaning teams have already begun the cleanup process to remove debris left behind by the storm. The incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictable and dangerous nature of storms, urging the public to prioritize safety during extreme weather conditions.
