Coca-Cola Invests $56 Million in Third Plant in Shymkent
Coca-Cola İçecek (CCI) has expanded its presence in Kazakhstan with the opening of its third plant in Shymkent. The new plant has an annual production capacity of 283 million liters and is expected to create 150 jobs in the region.
With an investment of nearly 27 billion tenge (US$56.1 million), the 16-hectare plant is equipped with two production lines, which will increase CCI’s annual production capacity by approximately 30%. The plant is strategically located near the Zhuldyz industrial zone in Shymkent, adding to the company’s facilities in Astana and Bereke village in the Almaty Region.
Since 1994, CCI has invested 106 billion tenge (US$220.3 million) in the Kazakh economy, making significant contributions to the country’s GDP. Erdinç Güzel, CCI Regional Director for Central Asia and Caucasus, highlighted the company’s commitment to Kazakhstan and its success in the local market.
The official opening ceremony of the new plant was attended by various dignitaries, including Shymkent akim (Mayor) Gabit Syzdykbekov and Consul Generals from Türkiye and the United States. The event was also supported by Kazakh Invest, which is actively promoting investment opportunities in the country.
CCI’s operations in Kazakhstan are part of its global presence, with the company operating in 12 countries across the region. With over 10,000 employees and multiple bottling and fruit processing plants, CCI continues to expand its footprint in Central Asia and beyond.
