Several injured in car accident in Balıkesir
A car accident occurred at the return junction of the Bandırma-Bursa highway to Ömerli Mahallesi in Balıkesir. The accident involved a light commercial vehicle driven by Metin K. and a truck driven by Lütfü Arslan.
In the car driven by Metin K., there were several passengers including Emine, Muhammed Ahmet, Mahmut Abdullah, Fatma Zeynep Karabağ, Canan, Aise Hümeyra, Elif Sare, and Yüsra Hilal Kurt. All of them sustained injuries in the collision.
Medical teams quickly arrived at the scene and transported the injured to different hospitals in the district. Luckily, none of the injuries were life-threatening.
After conducting investigations, the police and gendarmerie teams determined that Metin K. had violated a red light, leading to the accident.
For a certain period of time, the road had to be closed off to traffic in order to clear the vehicles involved in the accident. Once the vehicles were removed, the road was reopened.
In a stroke of luck, the moment of the accident was captured by a security camera from a nearby workplace.
