Commemorating the July 15 Martyrs at Hala Sultan Mosque
The Turkish Embassy in Nicosia recently organized a special event to commemorate the martyrs of July 15 as part of the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Commemoration Day events. The program included prayers for those who lost their lives during the coup attempt on July 15, 2016, as well as for all martyrs, at the Hala Sultan Mosque in Nicosia. Following the program, Friday prayers were also performed.
Among those in attendance were President Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Nicosia Metin Feyzioğlu, several ministers, and citizens. Before the Friday prayers, the Quran was recited and prayers were offered for the martyrs of July 15, 2016, and for all other martyrs.
The event served as a solemn and respectful way to honor and remember those who sacrificed their lives for their country. The community came together to pay their respects and show their appreciation for the martyrs. Overall, the “Remember the Martyrs of July 15” program was a meaningful and poignant tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their nation.
