The Ministry of Health Signs Contract for State Laboratory Construction Project

The Minister of Health, Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek, recently signed a contract for the construction of a state laboratory project. The signing ceremony, which was attended by the relevant company, marks an important milestone for the Ministry of Health and the country.

During his speech at the ceremony, Minister Dinçyürek emphasized the significance of the project for the nation. He recalled the unfortunate incident that took place approximately 8 years ago, where the laboratory of a department vital to the country was destroyed in a fire. Since then, efforts have been made to continue the operations of the state laboratory under challenging conditions with limited resources.

Minister Dinçyürek highlighted the importance of the state laboratory and the efforts being made to construct a new, modern facility. The new state laboratory, with a closed area of 2198 square meters, is designed to meet international standards and provide accredited reports.

The financing of the project has been secured through contributions from Turkey and support from the health fund. The contract was signed with Mustafa Aladağ İnşaat Limited company, with a tender price of 88 million 464 thousand 386 TL and a delivery time of 250 working days. The completion date for the project is set for July 5, 2025.

Minister Dinçyürek stressed the importance of the state laboratory in various sectors, including production, export, and import. The new laboratory will have the capacity to conduct essential food analyses for exports and contribute significantly to the examination of imported foods.

Expanding the laboratory’s capacity and range of assays will benefit the country’s economy and production. Minister Dinçyürek expressed his gratitude to the state laboratory director, Ministry of Health employees, and bureaucrats who have supported the project. He expressed hope that the foundations will be laid soon, and the state laboratory will be operational by July, providing essential services to the public.

Overall, the construction of the new state laboratory represents a significant step towards enhancing healthcare services and promoting economic growth in the country.
