The World Celebrates the Creativity of Magtymguly Fragi
In an effort to increase the global recognition of Magtymguly Fragi’s literary works, an event was held with the participation of leaders and employees of the Turkmenaragatnashyk Agency. The event aimed to showcase the significance of Fragi’s creativity and its impact on Turkmen culture.
Speakers at the meeting emphasized that the theme for 2024 is centered around the poem “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi,” a testament to the profound talent and wisdom of the Turkmen people. This theme is a source of pride for the Turkmen people and commemorates the legacy of Magtymguly Fragi.
The construction of a monumental statue of Magtymguly Fragi in the foothills of the Kopetdag mountains serves as a symbol of the enduring importance of the poet’s creative heritage for future generations.
The declaration of 2024 as the “Year of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi” by the Permanent Council of the International Organization of Turkic Culture – TURKSOY, along with the inclusion of Fragi’s manuscripts in the World List of UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme, and the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi in collaboration with UNESCO in 2024-2025, are all evidence of the global recognition of the poet’s creativity.
