
Constitution Discussed at High Advisory Board Meeting

The Presidential High Advisory Board, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, recently convened at Çankaya Mansion. Members of the board, including İsmail Kahraman, Mehmet Ali Şahin, Köksal Toptan, Cemil Çiçek, Binali Yıldırım, Mustafa Şentop, and İsmet Yılmaz, as well as key officials such as Presidential Administrative Affairs Director Metin Kıratlı, Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, and Presidential Private Secretary Hasan Doğan, were present at the meeting.
During the gathering, the board discussed various important topics, including the recent earthquakes on February 6, political and economic issues within Turkey, and global challenges facing the country. One significant agenda item was the ongoing efforts towards drafting a new constitution for Turkey, emphasizing the need for a civil, democratic, liberal, and inclusive document.
Additionally, the meeting included an evaluation of Turkey’s economic program, with an emphasis on avoiding populist measures that could harm the economy. The board highlighted the importance of continuing the meticulous work necessary to achieve the program’s goals. Furthermore, the board recognized the four-year period without elections as an opportunity for progress in various fields, urging effective use of this time towards realizing the Türkiye Century goals.
The board also discussed the “Türkiye Century Education Model,” a new educational initiative set to revolutionize the country’s education system. Additionally, development and construction efforts in provinces affected by natural disasters were assessed during the meeting.
President Erdoğan assured that Turkey is on track to achieve its Türkiye Century goals, with a focus on productive steps in foreign policy and other areas. He predicted that the positive outcomes of the economic program would become apparent by the second half of 2024, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
