Continued Studies on Flood Damage Assessment
Heavy Rains and Floods Cause Damage in Samsun
The city of Samsun in Turkey experienced heavy rains and floods which had a negative impact on the daily life of the citizens. The downpour caused the water levels in the canals and streams to rise, leading to flooding in several areas. As a result, some villages were cut off due to damage to bridges that connect them together.
To address the situation, Orhan Kırcalı, the AK Party Samsun Deputy, and Hamit Kılıç, the Bafra Mayor, went to examine the affected region. They listened to the demands and concerns of the citizens who were affected by the floods.
After their visit, Mayor Kılıç expressed his sympathy, saying, “Thank God, we did not experience any loss of life due to the flood in our district. With our Deputy Orhan Kırcalı, we examined the extent of the disaster in our Ozan, Yeraltı, Kolay, İnözükoşaca and Kapıkaya neighborhoods and determined our damages. We will start our work for them without slowing down, we will fix the traces of the disaster. Our work teams continue their work by taking the necessary precautions in the field. We are doing our best to return life to its normal flow.”
Despite the damages done, there have been no reports of any injuries or casualties, and efforts are being made to restore everything to normal. The local authorities are working hard to ensure the safety of all its citizens and are taking necessary precautions to avoid any further damage.
