Controversy Surrounding Police Allegations of Naked Search and Torture

Ankara Police Department denies claims of naked search and torture during detainment
The Ankara Police Department has refuted allegations circulating on social media that individuals were subjected to naked searches and torture during the detainment process. In a statement issued by the Directorate, it was revealed that individuals who were detained on March 22 as part of safety operations were referred to judicial authorities on March 24 and released on the same day under judicial control.
The statement highlighted that investigations into the allegations regarding the search procedures and custody of detainees revealed that all actions were carried out in accordance with the relevant regulations, including the “Capture, Detention and Expression Regulation”, “Judicial and Prevention Search Regulation”, and instructions from the General Directorate of Security. It was emphasized that the aim of the news was to cast doubt on the integrity of the security organization, and criminal complaints will be filed against those responsible for spreading false accusations.
This denial comes in the wake of recent claims regarding alleged misconduct during detainment processes. Similar to the recent case in Bayburt where the claim of ‘Murder in Student Dormitory’ was also denied, it is essential to ensure that all allegations are thoroughly investigated before jumping to conclusions.
