Corvinus University Honored with International Employability Award
Corvinus University of Budapest’s graduates are not only excelling academically but are also reaping the benefits in terms of employment prospects. Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a renowned higher education rating organization, has acknowledged the exceptional career opportunities available to Corvinus graduates. The Hungarian Educational Authority data further highlight the significant wage advantage enjoyed by Corvinus students in Hungary, with their average gross salary being the highest in the country.
This year, Corvinus University was honored with the “Employability – Performance Improvement” award by QS, recognizing the university’s efforts in ensuring the employability and success of its graduates. The award was presented at the QS European Higher Education Summit in Sitges, near Barcelona, where Péter Fehér, International Head of Corvinus, accepted the accolade on behalf of the institution. Fehér emphasized the university’s commitment to equipping graduates with marketable knowledge and skills, preparing them for the workforce and future leadership roles.
Richárd Szántó, the Dean of Corvinus responsible for undergraduate studies, emphasized the remarkable salary advantage that Corvinus graduates possess compared to their peers. The data shows that on average, Corvinus graduates earn 207,000 forints more than graduates from other economic education courses who received their bachelor’s degrees nine years ago, making Corvinus graduates the highest earners in the country.
Moreover, master’s degree holders from Corvinus, particularly in business programs, also command higher salaries compared to graduates from similar programs in Hungary. The latest data from the Educational Authority for 2023 indicates that finance graduates from Corvinus earn an average monthly salary of 1.1 million forints. Additionally, two-thirds of Corvinus graduates secure employment during their studies, with a quick turnaround in finding jobs post-graduation.
The Financial Times 2023 ranking further reinforces the value of a Corvinus degree, with the university’s Master’s in Management and Leadership program ranking 17th globally in terms of value for money. The high employability rate of Corvinus graduates is evident, as 99 percent of graduates from this program were employed within three months of graduating. The future looks promising for Corvinus graduates, with two-thirds of the 2020 cohort experiencing increased earnings within two to three years post-graduation.
