Countdown to 2024 Local Elections: How Many Days Left?
The 2024 Local Election Calendar has been announced by the Supreme Election Board (YSK) with specific dates for the upcoming municipal elections. According to the decision, the election calendar will officially begin on January 1, 2024.
Key dates in the election calendar include the announcement of political parties participating in the election on January 2, and the determination of the placement of political parties on the ballot paper through a draw on January 27. Political parties will also submit their lists of candidates for various positions until February 20, 17.00.
Election propaganda and bans will begin on March 21, with the end of election propaganda scheduled for 18.00 on March 30, and the end of election bans set for 23.59 on March 31.
In the 2024 municipal elections, voters will be able to cast their votes for various positions, including Metropolitan Mayor, Provincial Mayor, District Mayor, Town Mayor, Village headmen and members of the council of elders, Neighborhood headmen, and Provincial general council and municipal council members.
The local elections will take place in ballot boxes set up in schools, parliamentary elections, and referendums.
