Covert migrant smuggling operation near Izmir’s coast!

The Coast Guard Command recently made multiple successful operations to rescue irregular immigrants attempting dangerous sea crossings.

According to the Coast Guard Command’s website, a group of 26 irregular immigrants, including 6 children, were detected on a rubber boat in the Dikili district. The Coast Guard’s mobile radar identified the boat, and a Coast Guard ship and boat were directed to stop and capture the immigrants.

In a separate incident, 34 illegal immigrants who were abandoned and left to die by Greek elements were saved by the Greek Coast Guard team in the Ayvacık district of Çanakkale. Additionally, in Urla, 22 illegal immigrants attempting to cross to Greek islands were caught by the Turkish Coast Guard authorities.

Furthermore, a rescue operation was conducted in Karaada on the Çeşme district upon receiving information about irregular immigrants stranded on the island. A Coast Guard helicopter, boat, and diving team were deployed to the area, resulting in the successful rescue of 20 irregular immigrants, including 9 children.

Following the rescue operations, all immigrants were taken to the Provincial Directorate of Immigration Administration for necessary procedures and assistance. The Coast Guard continues to monitor and respond to any suspicious activities at sea to prevent further dangerous crossings and save lives.
