Crackdown on Loan Sharks and Fraudsters: The “Cage” Operation
Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya has announced a series of operations known as “Cage-49” which were organized by the Provincial KOM and Financial Branch Directorates under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security KOM Presidency.
These operations took place simultaneously in a total of 56 provinces across Turkey, including major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, as well as smaller provinces like Batman, Bartın, and Yalova.
A total of 147 suspects were targeted in the “Cage-49” operations, with allegations including crimes such as usury, fraud against public institutions and individuals, tender rigging, money forgery, and document forgery.
In a statement, Minister Yerlikaya emphasized the government’s commitment to fighting organized crime and gangs that disrupt the peace of the people. He praised the police officers involved in the operations and assured the nation that they will continue to crack down on criminal activities.
