Crime Spree in Kocaeli: Man Stabs 4 People in Half an Hour
A series of stabbings occurred in İzmit district, Kocaeli, yesterday evening, leaving four people injured. The suspect, identified as G.Ö.S., first attacked TL in Pertev Paşa Street, Ömerağa Neighborhood, stabbing him in the leg. He then proceeded to stab S.İ.Y. on Cumhuriyet Street. Moving about 200 meters, he targeted MT in a cafe on Şahabettin Bilgisu Street, and then EB back on Pertev Paşa Street.
The police and medical teams quickly responded to the reports of stabbings, which happened consecutively within half an hour. The four injured individuals, who had no prior connection to each other or the suspect, were taken to hospitals and treated. They were all in stable condition. Based on the descriptions provided by the victims, they identified the suspect as G.Ö.S.
Following intensive police work, G.Ö.S. was apprehended last night and taken to Kocaeli Police Department Children’s Branch Directorate for questioning. Reports suggest that during the attacks, the suspect uttered the chilling words, “What are you looking at?”, before carrying out the stabbings.
The investigation into the motives behind these attacks is ongoing while the victims recover from their injuries. It serves as a stark reminder of the importance of community safety and vigilance in preventing such acts of violence from occurring.
