Critical Step from MKE: Enchey’s Wandering Journey

The IDEX Fair, one of the most significant defense industry events globally, is being hosted by the United Arab Emirates. Turkey’s machinery and Chemical Industry (MKE) is prominently featured at the event with its stand, showcasing their latest projects. MKE Deputy General Manager Ümit Kıyak recently made special announcements to TRT Haber, unveiling details about two crucial projects.

One of the projects involves developing ammunition with advanced capabilities in response to the latest developments in the world. Kıyak revealed that they are working on 5-6 types of ammunition, including GPS-guided short, medium, and long-range options. These ammunition types are designed to counter threats such as Jammers, making it easier to use drone systems in warfare.

Additionally, MKE is working on an integrated 105 howitzer that can be mounted on a 4×4 light-wheeled vehicle. According to Kıyak, this concept has garnered interest from overseas markets, demonstrating significant export potential for MKE’s projects. By focusing on both meeting the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces and exploring opportunities for export, MKE aims to strengthen its position in the global defense industry.

The first test for the new ammunitions is scheduled for the end of March, with plans to begin mass production of drones later this year. MKE’s commitment to innovation and expansion into international markets highlights their dedication to staying at the forefront of defense technology.
