CTP Organizes Workshop on Water Problems and Solutions – BRTK
The Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Ecology and Environment Committee recently organized a workshop titled “Water Problem and Solution Suggestions under the Effect of Climate Change”. The workshop was held at the Dome Hotel in Kyrenia and aimed to address the pressing issues related to climate change and its impact on water resources.
During the workshop, CTP Chairman Tufan Erhürman emphasized the importance of implementing short, medium, and long-term plans to tackle the challenges posed by climate change. He highlighted the need for scientific interventions and proactive measures to mitigate the effects of climate change on water resources.
Various experts and officials, including CTP Secretary General Asım Akansoy and members of parliament, participated in the workshop. The event featured panels on topics such as the impact of climate change on weather events, floods caused by surface waters, and the status of underground water resources.
In his address, Tufan Erhürman underscored the urgency of addressing climate change and adapting to new environmental realities. He stressed the need for collaborative efforts to combat climate change and protect the planet for future generations.
Similarly, Environmental Engineer Nilden Bektaş Erhürman highlighted the need for immediate action to address the water crisis in the region. She emphasized the importance of managing existing water resources effectively and developing sustainable practices to mitigate the impact of climate change on water availability.
